**_Children from 3 to 17 years old can be called on to give evidence in Court..._**

Having to give evidence in Court - as a witness or a victim - is traumatic for
_anyone. _Imagine how harrowing it must be for a child. Especially one who doesn’t have the support of a trained and compassionate adult to stand with them.

Through its unique and critical Volunteer program, this long-established, non-profit community organisation aims to ensure that all children from 3 to 17 years old - and certain vulnerable adults - are supported through the legal system by giving them the information, support and confidence they need to overcome their fears and offer their best evidence calmly and truthfully.

**This is a unique organisation. Begun back in the 1980’s it is arguably still the only one of its kind in Australia.**

Across the decades, demand for its services has grown significantly. But so too have the opportunities to provide more support through increased professionalism, advocacy and foresight.

This small, purposeful NFP is in good shape financially and, operationally, all systems are go. With an excellent reputation, strong partnerships and an amazing contingent of dedicated and highly trained volunteers, they are well positioned for steady growth.

**But none of this can happen without the inspiration of a strategic, hands-on, innovative and engaging leader**

In this big, busy and rewarding role, there are plenty of challenges. For example, it’s time for a new Strategic Plan and to grow its vital volunteer base, as the remit expands to support a number of vulnerable adults.

So, the new CEO will need to be calm and unflappable; visionary and entrepreneurial; someone who can efficiently run a business with a small core team and a wealth of unpaid volunteers, find new sources of funding and advocate for this organisation at every opportunity.

You may be a seasoned CEO looking for a change in direction or if you’re really big on all the above but are still a little lacking in actual CEO experience, there’s a great onboarding program, so don’t stress. Change, transformation, relationship building and clinching new opportunities for growth are what it’s all about. So, we’ll be looking more at what you’re confident of doing than where you may have been.

This is a special and rewarding role for a hands-on, solutions-driven champion of children with a light approach, astute business skills and a passion for social justice. You will need to have/acquire a Working with Children Blue Card and be vaccinated in accordance with Government requirements.
