The Bureau provides information, advice, support and services across Australia about our weather, water, oceans, space weather and the climate. To do this, we need to form strong relationships across all levels of government to ensure when it’s needed, we can work together to support the community.

As the Team Leader, Stakeholder Engagement, you will proactively and strategically manage the Bureau’s relationships with elected officials. Drawing on knowledge and experience of managing stakeholder engagement for complex infrastructure projects, and experience working in operationally-driven organisations within issues rich environments, you will establish relationships both internally and externally to support this function.

You will be responsible for the implementation of the Bureau’s stakeholder engagement framework ensuring that we are delivering a strategic approach to managing stakeholder engagement, focusing on engaging with elected officials to ensure they have the information they need to support their communities.
You will be a trusted adviser to senior Bureau staff and external stakeholders in peak periods. You will be expected to be flexible and strategic about how you react to emerging issues. You will need to have the ability to lead and work effectively under pressure, particularly during times of unfolding crisis and high impact events such as severe weather.

This role has a close working relationship with the parliamentary team and the media team, and you will be required to draw on relevant experience in both areas. This role will also support the media team by participating in the on-call media roster.
