We are looking for an experienced and motivated Payroll Officer

**Your new company**
We are Australia's leading vertically-integrated Electric Arc Furnace steel recycling, manufacturing and distribution business. We provide solutions for commercial and residential construction, large scale and nation-building infrastructure, our primary producers, mining and rural sectors.

**Your new role**
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Payroll Officer to support our busy function in processing the fortnightly payroll in a timely and efficient manner, reporting to the Payroll Team Leader.
- Perform fortnightly payroll duties
- Liaise with HR teams, managers and employees
- Manage workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understand taxation of employer paid benefits, Payroll Tax and PAYG
- Manage new starters and terminations
- Generate fortnightly and monthly financial reporting.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Substantial experience in a complex payroll function
- Proficiency with the SAP payroll platform
- Intermediate experience in Excel and ability to generate financial reports
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, awards ability to interpret EBAs
- Experience with timesheet processing with a variety of roster arrangements
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
