**THE COMPANY**
Melbourne headquartered established major international Infrastructure Services business.
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Reporting to a tenured Payroll Manager, and working in a team of three, the Payroll Officer will assume end-to-end responsibility for the fortnightly payroll of circa 100+ nationally based employees ensuring Taxation, Superannuation and other legislative/statutory obligations are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes whilst also assisting the wider team when they need it.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure the operational aspects of fortnightly payroll processing and associated activities including wage disbursement, leave management and reporting
- Interpretation of applicable Modern Awards and EBA’s
- Prepare payroll and human resources information for data input and assist with checking, quality control and maintenance of records to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity
- Provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service on payroll matters, resolve enquiries and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing corrective action where required to ensure employee payments are processed accurately and database integrity is maintained
- Support payroll team members with various aspects of the processing of payroll as and where required
- Process improvement, reporting, ad-hoc duties and acting as 2IC during times of leave
**CHALLENGES**
It’s a construction Payroll. Your employee base is paid under strict EBA conditions and there is no room for complacency.
**IDEAL APPLICANTS**
Prior exposure to the construction/engineering industries will be looked upon favourably. Experience with Chris21 is preferred. Having one of Chris21 or construction experience is required for this role. Otherwise, a keen eye for process improvement and a desire to step up when required.
