**The Role**
The Chief of Staff Directorate in the Joint Capabilities Group Headquarters are seeking a highly motivated Administration Assistant to work in a small and dynamic team environment.

The Administration Assistant will be required to work cohesively within a small team comprising of the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff and Joint Capabilities Group Headquarters staff to provide seamless admin support to the Joint Capabilities Group.

They will be accountable for organising workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will interpret and provide advice within the administration function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support work to achieve results.

The Administration Assistant will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.

**About our Team**
Headquarters Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) provides high level support to the Group Head, the Chief of Joint Capabilities (CJC), by directing and coordinating Group strategy and operations across a range of functions and authorities.

Headquarters JCG works closely with the nine Divisions and Commands within JCG and also the other Groups within Defence to contribute to JCG and Defence wide outcomes.

The Chief of Staff Administration Assistant role works closely with all sections of the HQ including the Office of CJC/DCJC, Ministerial and Parliamentary, Business and Governance, Workforce and Culture, Media and Communications directorates, and a wide range of advisors including Legal Support. The position will work as an integral part of the Chief of Staff Directorate.

We are looking for a range of administrative skills, ranging from stakeholder engagement, sustaining and building relationships, accountability, organisation, adaptability, self-motivated, collaborative, problem solver, attention to detail, and sound judgement.

Experience in record keeping, coordination, written and verbal - communication, governance, identifying and interpreting legislation and policy, managing competitive priorities while remaining flexible, liaison, developing procedures and policy will be looked on favourable.

The role will use a wide array of business tools that help synchronise Chief of Staff priorities and work in an orderly manner.
