The Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Maritime Systems Program Office (EWIS-Maritime SPO) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled APS 5 Security Officer to join our team. As the APS 5 Security Officer you will be an integral part of the team that provides effective security support to EWIS-Maritime SPO, using effective decision making and excellent time management skills.

This role is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex protective security work within an integrated workforce. The APS 5 Security Officer needs to develop and maintain a sound understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

As the Security Officer you will be relied upon to provide security assistance and advice to all members of the EWIS-Maritime SPO and will have good stakeholder engagement skills; excellent communication skills to provide advice on security issues to achieve outcomes. You will have a sound understanding of compliance to relevant security related legislative frameworks and policy requirements.

Duties may include:

- Undertake roles associated with the Unit Security Officer position;
- Management of Security Incidents;
- Support the development and delivery of security awareness training;
- Coordinate and respond to Branch security enquiries and taskings;
- Provide support to Senior Security Advisors in delivering security services to EWIS Maritime-SPO.

As part of the EWIS-MSPO Security Team, you will be responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to develop and maintain close links with a range of Defence Industry security partners. You are responsible for maintaining positive security culture and environment within the EWIS-Maritime SPO.

**About our Team**
EWIS-Maritime SPO currently manages a number of electronic warfare systems fitted to both the surface and sub-surface fleet, such as the Nulka Decoy product and various Sensors and Electronic Attack products in both acquisition and sustainment phases. The SPO delivers these capabilities to both the Australian Defence Force and United States Navy.

EWIS-Maritime SPO is widely dispersed across Australia with this position based at Russell, ACT. The successful applicant will participate in an integrated team, including APS, military and contractor staff, to ensure the supported Electronic Warfare capabilities are delivered to the ADF and supported in accordance with operational and compliance requirements, budget, and service agreements.

The EWIS Business Units are comprised of members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together to provide governance, assurance and enabling services to support a wide variety of activities undertaken by EWIS Program Management Office and SPO business units.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Government Security requirements and frameworks;
- Experience in the security environment, with the ability to development plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes;
- Demonstrated organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with excellent interpersonal skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability influence and negotiate with stakeholder at variant levels;
- The ability to set work priorities, manage workflows, build and sustain productive and collaborative relationships;
- The ability to respond flexibly to changing situations, including using sound judgement under pressure with the ability to prioritise work to ensure the success of key deliverables.
