Cargo Crew is a design based, digitally led, brand business that creates uniforms, driven by creativity and design solutions relevant to a client’s brand. Although the business was founded 21 years ago, it acts like a startup in many respects. Now with 50 employees across executive, sales, customer success & admin, marketing, planning, production, finance, IT, warehouse and embroidery, all based in Bundoora. Cargo Crew has doubled in size pre-pandemic, and has an exciting growth trajectory ahead. Now shipping to 80 countries around the world, with the US the largest market outside of Australia, the key growth initiatives are to grow outbound sales and eCommerce.

Given the size, scale and potential of the business, the time is right to introduce their inaugural HR practitioner. Reporting to the Managing Director, the HR Manager will provide operational HR support to the Cargo Crew executive and management teams with everything from onboarding to exiting, as well as strategic support including HR planning, the development of organisational capability, people programs to support the organisation’s vision, values and future ways of working, culture, engagement, performance, retention, and compliance.

An HR or equivalent qualified senior HR practitioner, you will be either a Senior HR Business Partner ready to step into a leadership role, or an HR Manager, with experience across the entire employee lifecycle. To be successful in the role you will be a passionate, agile, flexible professional with demonstrated experience in coaching, problem solving, relationship building, thinking creatively, and excited to work in a standalone capacity in a fast-moving and fast-growing business. Gravitas, the ability to build credibility quickly and influence are all essential. An understanding of our exposure to the uniform fashion industry would be advantageous.
