**About the role**
- Reporting to the Team Leader Development Compliance, you will:

- Support the Team Leader to achieve the Strategic Community & Operation Plan deliverables
- Undertake proactive audits and inspections in accordance with Council’s development compliance programs, ensuring all works including research, field inspections and taking appropriate regulatory enforcement is conducted to a high standard
- Undertake all work in a manner that is consistent with legislation and in the public interest
- In undertaking the above functions, all position holders are to ensure ‘Key Duties, Accountabilities & Responsibilities’ detailed below are undertaken and achieved

**Remuneration**

$88,656.36 - $112,574.80 + 11.5% Superannuation + Access to Inner West Car Allowance Scheme.

**Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications from a relevant field such as town planning, building surveying, environmental management, or building construction or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of all relevant legislation including_; Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979; Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997; State, Regional & Local State Environmental Planning Policies; National Construction Code (Building Code of Australia) and Australian Standards_
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage high workloads, complete tasks and meet prescribed customer service response levels
- Proven ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy and records management skills
- NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
- Knowledge and understanding with a commitment to implement EEO, Ethical Practice & WH&S principles.
- Demonstrated experience in the documenting of inspections and undertaking an analysis to relevant standards
