The Australian Farm Institute (AFI) is seeking a Research Program Coordinator to support our evidence-based research and policy initiatives in agriculture. This is a great opportunity to join AFI and contribute to Australia’s world-leading agricultural policy research.

A new member of the team reporting to the Research Program Manager, the Research Program Coordinator will help implement AFI’s research program. This includes diverse work across research, policy analysis, project development, and project management. You will work closely with a tightknit team to deliver high-quality research that informs policy and supports sustainable outcomes for the agricultural sector.

We are seeking a motivated, collaborative, creative and organised person who is excited about the potential of sound farm policy to deliver a viable future for the Australian agricultural community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the development and delivery of AFI’s research strategy.
- Undertake research and contribute to reports on agricultural policy issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including researchers, industry partners, and policymakers.
- Assist with project management to ensure timely and budget-conscious outcomes.
- Contribute to publications, communications, and events to support the research program.

About You:

- Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, science, economics, public policy or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent communication and writing abilities.
- Project management experience and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities.
