Our opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a National Manager - Capital Works within the Integrated Investment Portfolio (IIP) business. This is a senior leadership position that will provide services across our 24-billion-dollar portfolio of Office, Industrial, Retail & BTR assets under management.
This is a critical role that will provide pivotal stakeholder leadership to define, develop and direct a diverse range of internal & external stakeholders in the implementation of the Capital Works components of the IIP FY22 - 26 Strategy.
In this role you will manage a team of 6 staff (including 4 direct reports) and collaborate with a broad group of stakeholders in the provision of services that create value for Mirvac, our investors, partners and tenants.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project and/or General Manager to further develop their career in Australia’s leading integrated real estate group.
**The focus of the role is to lead the following activities**:
Provide capital Works services that align and integrate the commercial and technical requirements of owners, partners, customers and assets
Enhancing Portfolio Performance - Create a competitive advantage through optimising asset performance, managing risk and creating value.
IIP FY22 - 26 strategy - Lead & drive the Capital Works components of the strategy
Collaboration & Innovation - Lead, drive & facilitate collaboration & innovation across Mirvac & IIP including but not limited to;
Sustainability
Asset Technology
Mirvac Digital
IIP Operations Management
IIP Real estate operations (REO)
IIP HSE
Mirvac Group Procurement
IIP culture - Utilise Mirvac business methodologies & processes to promote, develop & enhance a positive IIP operating culture
Data into insight - Input into the Mirvac platform that will harvest data & convert it into meaningful insight which delivers customer value & optimises the performance of assets
SAPs & Capex Budgets - Ensure alignment with the IIP FY22 - 26 strategy.
Lead & manage the Capital Works team in the management of Major Capital Works projects including;
Life cycle upgrades,
Lessor works & make goods
Strategic Capex projects
Asset technology & Intelligent infrastructure projects
Sustainability projects
Projects range in size & value from $200K up to $25 Mill
Procurement - Partnering with Mirvac Group Procurement to drive the IIP Capex procurement strategy
Mirvac NOW & NEXT- Lead the Capex activities within these projects
Resources - The leadership & management of the Capital Works team
Customer service - Always strive to provide excellent customer service (internal & external) that creates productive and enduring working relationships.
Customer & industry advocacy - communicating commercial excellence, value & engagement with industry groups.
Provide leadership to ensure compliance with Mirvac Minimum Standards, HSE, business policies, governance procedures and statutory requirements.
**Your point of difference**:
Project Management &/or engineering tertiary qualification
Demonstrated experience in being the “Owners Representative” in the management of Capital Works projects.
Knowledge of institutional and/or corporate environments including the ability to manage a broad range of business stakeholders to achieve results.
At least 10 years’ experience Project Management and/or an engineering discipline across the Office, Industrial, Retail & BTR asset classes
Strategic planning and high level analytical/problem solving skills.
Demonstrated people management and project leadership skills with the ability to build and influence collaborative and productive stakeholder relationships.
Experience in management of external stakeholders (Consultants, vendors, consultants, suppliers) and the implementation and negotiation of commercial contracts and service level agreements.
Capable of concurrent problem solving, management of complex issues and adaptability to changing work environments and workloads in a multi-functional technical services team.
Strong understanding of the Australian Standards, HSE&S and National Construction Code.
Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and report writing skills.
