**Specialist Configuration Manager - Rail**

A great opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Configuration Manager to work on an exciting major project in WA, the Rail Technology Programme (RTP). RTP is a transformational upgrade of WAIO’s train control and signalling system. RTP will deliver the world's first heavy haul moving block signalling system. Moving-block will allow trains and other rail-mounted vehicles to safely run much closer together, resulting in a substantial increase in the rail network’s capability along with a step-change improvement in safety. **About the Role**

You have an opportunity to join a fantastic business and Project, based in Perth. Reporting to the RTP Engineering Manager you will be responsible for managing changes to technical requirements and technical baselines across RTP. This role will lead the strategy for the development of configuration management systems across the WAIO rail operation to support the new technology being introduced by the programme.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- To manage and coordinate the process of change to technical requirements and technical baselines across the project delivery.
- To own reporting on adherence to the technical change and configuration management processes.
- As a member of the Project Configuration Control Board, establish ownership of configuration control processes and technical gate reviews as per the agreed cadence in the programme.
- With a supporting team, drive the development of a configuration management strategy that spans the complete systems engineering cycle and references industry best practices.
- Act as a key interface to WAIO Operations for matters related to configuration management and establish alignment with existing configuration management processes.
- Provide guidance to engineers on the Configuration Management Processes they need to follow.

**To be successful in this role you will possess**:

- Extensive hands-on working experience of configuration management.
- Experienced CM practitioner in all hardware and software CM-related disciplines, including Configuration Control, Configuration Status Accounting, CM Audits, Baseline Management, Software Configuration Management and CM database requirements.
- Ability to perform within a multi-functional programme team comprising both staff and suppliers.
- Demonstrates understanding of the system engineering lifecycle and phases.
- Experience in rail, marine or defence.
