**Your new role**
- Provide expertise where specialist systems knowledge is required, including technical/escalated support to the Service Desk, and third-line telephonic support to end users
- Provide proactive/reactive support and undertake activities as required to ensure a high level of service continuity
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, working with stakeholders as required to achieve a positive outcome
- Proactively monitor security performance, providing recommendations and tuning in accordance with agreed processes and procedures
- Contribute to the enhancement of the Information Technology Operations Management toolset in monitoring, measuring, and managing security services
- Review and maintain system documentation and procedures relating to operational support and activities, system design and configuration
- Act in accordance with agreed and documented ITIL processes and procedures, including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, Test Management

**What you'll need to succeed**
We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced Security Specialist who will design and evaluate the security systems that protect the organisation’s computer systems and data. The ICT Security Specialist analyses IT specifications and overall security risk, implements appropriate security measures, and plays a leadership role in any response to security breaches and incidents. You will have demonstrated experience in:

- Experience in information security or related field
- Detailed understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, malicious code detection, and IDS/IPS concepts
- Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
- Some experience performing risk assessments and providing recommendations for closing compliance gaps or compensating controls, articulating residual risk, and putting in place risk mitigation plans is desirable
- Experience working within a Helpdesk/Service desk/Team environment
