Our Animal Emergency Service (AES) Underwood is a purpose-built facility that offers state of the art equipment. We have two EMCC specialists within our organization, four Residents and an extensive network of experienced clinicians who enjoy training and supporting all team members. We also regularly host vet students from multiple Universities around Australia, so you would also be contributing to the next generation of vets.

**The Role**:
This is a full time permanent role with
**AES Underwood**. The Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising the day-to-day operational routines, equipment, and assets of the hospital to ensure operational effectiveness. Leadership forms a key component of this role with direct report responsibilities to assist with the management of key duties.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Management of day-to-day operations including operational decision making.
- End-to-end process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Participate in senior management strategic planning meetings.
- Plan and forecast to meet strategic operational business goals.
- End to end Inventory and Equipment management including budget management and reporting.
- Strong management and oversight of all Workplace Health and Safety compliance reporting requirements.
- Supervise, coach, and manage the performance of direct reports.
- Foster a harmonious and professional work culture.

**About you**:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience** **working in an Operational and Leadership role, Veterinary or Healthcare experience is highly desirable however not essential.
- Project management experience is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to drive exceptional performance and deliver operational excellence.
- Previous experience in change management and performance improvement outcomes.
- Demonstrated planning, time management and organisational skills, particularly in managing multiple tasks and multidisciplinary issues to achieve business goals and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage and build relationships with colleagues, team members and key stakeholders.
- A love for daring leadership and motivating people to achieve their best.
- Positive energy, presence, and attitude.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and persuasion skills.
- Impeccable integrity, ethics, and professionalism along with empathy for others and a love of animals.
- A high level of dependability in all aspects of the job, including the ability to be calm and take accountability for actions.
- **Flexible working availability (some weekend work required)**

**This role has flexibility around when hours are worked but given the nature of our after-hours clinic your availability and support will be needed at times on weekends, mornings/nights, and public holidays.**
