Universal Steel Frame Adelaide has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated, professional Draftsperson to join our fast-growing team.

**The Role**

The architectural draftsperson is responsible to prepare preliminary sketches, working drawings and detailed specifications. Required to complete full construction drawings from a concept plan or client brief, managing all amendments from council or selection changes. The architectural draftsperson is required to liaise with builders and contractors to create and update plans, maps, charts and drawings to ensure client needs and standards are met.

**Your Duties**
- Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software programs and equipment or a conventional drafting station to create and modify architectural documents, designs, working drawings, forms, charts and records.
- Analyze current building codes, by-laws and requirements to establish how they affect architectural drawings and stay up-to-date on all required and relevant codes.
- Bring together structural, mechanical and electrical designs and create a way or a method of accurately arranging them to produce building designs that are understandable and feasible.
- Draw detailed and rough scale plans for structures, foundations and buildings based upon preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, engineering calculations and other provided data.
- Design interior room arrangements for commercial buildings using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.
- Acquire and assemble the information needed to finish architectural drawings, visiting job sites when necessary to gather measurements.
- Work with clients and other stakeholders to understand the architectural brief.
- Prepare plans, preliminary sketches, working drawings and detailed specifications.

**What you need**
- Bachelor or higher Degree in the field of Architecture Design (Applicants who have Australian qualifications are preferred).
- Minimum 3 years experience in residential drafting.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD (essential).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and effective time management skills.

**Salary**: From $58,983.75 per year
