Deer Park, Australia Belleview Kitchens Full time

Company Name : Belleview Kitchens

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (min 38hrs per week)

**Salary**: $76,515k - 90k per annum (plus superannuation)

We are a well-established Melbourne-based company specialising in high-quality residential and commercial joinery and interior fit-outs, including kitchens, wardrobes, bathrooms, retail displays, and custom cabinetry. As part of our commitment to delivering bespoke design and precision manufacturing, we require a qualified Architectural Draftsperson to oversee technical documentation, drawing production, and design compliance. Although our core business is joinery, this role extends beyond basic cabinet drawings - it demands architectural-level precision in interpreting building plans, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This hybrid role is vital to bridging architectural intent with production execution.

In a joinery company, the role of an Architectural Draftsperson is critical to:

- Translating architectural concepts and site conditions into technically sound, regulation-compliant shop drawings.
- Ensuring documentation meets both client expectations and construction standards.
- Reducing delays, miscommunication, and costly rework through clear and compliant drawings.
- Streamlining the workflow between design, manufacturing, and installation.
- Interpret architectural plans and client briefs to develop accurate joinery and fit-out documentation, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD or Microvellum (or similar), tailored for high-precision manufacturing.
- Prepare full documentation packages, including cutting lists, material specifications, and assembly instructions for production and site teams.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with the Building Code of Australia (BCA), NCC, and other applicable regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with architects, builders, engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical design issues and coordinate project execution.
- Revise and update plans and drawings to incorporate design changes, stakeholder feedback, and site-specific adjustments, ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the documentation process.
- Conduct site visits to confirm dimensions, verify as-built conditions, and capture relevant data for design accuracy.
- Assist with developing initial concepts and preparing final drawings for client presentation and

approval.
- Maintain version control and update drawings as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed schedules for materials, hardware, finishes, and joinery components.
- Provide ongoing support during the procurement, production, and installation stages. Skills and Experience
- Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including clients, builders, engineers, surveyors, landscape designers, suppliers, architects, building designers, regulatory authorities, and certifiers.
- Administering contracts throughout the construction phase, including conducting site inspections and addressing technical queries as they arise.
- Diploma or higher level qualification in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Building Design, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in architectural drafting or joinery drafting environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit or Microvellum advantageous).
- Sound understanding of Australian construction standards and codes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in producing drawings for manufacture.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Competitive salary aligned with market standards for skilled architectural draftspersons.
- Work on bespoke residential and commercial joinery projects.
- Supportive and professional team environment.
- Opportunity for long-term growth and visa sponsorship.

Submit your resume, cover letter, and a sample portfolio showcasing your drafting work (ideally

joinery/shop drawings, floor plans, elevations, or details).
