The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide a critical role within the Aboriginal Justice.
This is a prioritised role for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, who will be given priority consideration as per the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010
About the business unit
The Aboriginal Justice group of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) is committed to driving systemic change in the justice system, to connect, support and deliver better outcomes for the Aboriginal community. The group works in partnership with Traditional Owners and the Victorian Aboriginal community to embed the principles of self-determination in the justice sector. The group is also responsible for leading the department's response to the Yoorrook Justice Commission and administering the Victorian Government's Stolen Generations Reparations package.
About the role
The Executive Assistant reports to the Executive Director, Truth and Justice Response and Land Justice, and will provide high level executive and administrative support to three executives: Executive Director, Truth and Justice Response and Land Justice (ED), Director, Land Justice Unit and Director, Truth and Justice Response Unit.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Provide executive support to senior executives.
- Coordinate schedules, arrange and prepare meetings and follow up actions.
- Coordinate the flow of briefings and correspondence from the Office of the ED and the two Units through to the Office of the Deputy Secretary.

About you
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Ability to analyse issues and determine priorities in an environment of tight and conflicting deadlines, to take initiative and work autonomously.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, including SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
- Demonstrated ability to use the DJCS Electronic Briefing and Correspondence (EBC) System or similar, TRIM document management system and or ability to rapidly learn new software tools.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with the Aboriginal community.
A tertiary qualification in business management or administration would be well regarded.
