With our group expanding this year we are looking for our next leader to take the reins, at The Moon, as Venue Manager. In this role no 2 weeks will be the same. You will be working closely alongside an Assistant Manager/wine buyer as well as a small yet dedicated team of front of house team members.

The Moon Wine Bar has been serving up drinks for the people of Collingwood since 2017 offering a thoughtfully curated selection of wines from near and far, celebrating smaller producers making delicious, interesting wines. We are huge believers in the idea that wines should speak of the soil in which they were grown, and that vignerons should guide their fruit into the bottle with the most gentle hand possible.

The last 2 years has seen us expand our offering, thanks to Charley Snadden-Wilson, to include an ever changing menu that carries the same ethos as the wines we stock. Simple, delicious food made with care and intent.

We are a group that values good wine, good food and good people. Knowledge is to be shared and the desire to continue to learn from our peers and producers is inherent throughout.

What we need from you:

- Wine knowledge - you will have a strong understanding of the wine industry, local and internationally, WSET education would be preferred but not a deal breaker, above all else a strong passion for wine and strong desire to continue to expand your knowledge.
- Confidence in talking about and recommending wine to colleagues and guests. We love a chat about wine and want to ensure the culture of wine conversation is at the forefront of what we do.
- Leadership - As the Venue Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the venue and the management of the team within it. We are looking for a leader who leads from the front and by example. Someone who inspires and encourages the team, has a strong emphasis on the development of the team and striving to improve our service always.
- Service and events. You will be a strong leader on the floor, ensuring the smooth running of the service, supporting the floor and kitchen staff and engaging with our guests to ensure their experience at The Moon is a positive one. You will have experience in and enjoy organising and planning events, collaboratively, from conception to execution.
- Guest relations. We are a wine bar full of regulars And we love it. Getting to know the local community is vital in the success of this role. Genuine hospitality and making our guests feel like we are welcoming them home every time they arrive is what we are about. We are looking for someone who can bring this warmth to every service and encourage the team to always do the same.
- Financial goals and KPI’s - Driven and able to reach weekly and monthly targets, ability to manage wage costs and increase sales to achieve this.
