Primary Purpose of Role

The Cafe/Venue Manager at Wellington Street, Collingwood, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe while delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. This role involves managing all aspects of cafe operations, maintaining high standards of quality and service, fostering a positive work environment, and leading a high-performing team. The Cafe/Venue Manager will also oversee catering services, continuously enhance the hospitality experience, and drive profitability.

About You

Key Responsibilities

Operations
- Develop and execute comprehensive plans for cafe operations, adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Oversee staff selection, training, and performance management.
- Manage catering services and identify upselling opportunities for meeting rooms, both for members and external clients.
- Maintain high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness throughout the cafe.
- Continuously improve operational processes for efficiency and member satisfaction.
- Drive cafe profitability through strategic initiatives and cost-effective measures.
- Collaborate with suppliers, monitor inventory, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and adapt operations accordingly.

Member Experience
- Maintain a deep understanding of the cafe’s brand and tone, ensuring all aspects of the hospitality experience align with our vision.
- Develop and implement strategies to consistently enhance the member experience, including special promotions and offerings.
- Cultivate a culture of exceptional customer service among the hospitality team, providing ongoing training and support to ensure consistent delivery of memorable experiences.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to integrate the member experience seamlessly across all touchpoints.

Leadership
- Proactively lead the recruitment process, building a high-performing team that shares our vision and values and contributing to their professional development.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a shared commitment to excellence.
- Lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership qualities and inspiring the team to achieve and exceed performance goals.

Work Health and Safety (WHS)
- Ensure that WHS standards are always adhered to and conduct and maintain safe work practices.
- Communicate and educate team members and members to ensure a safe environment and compliance with WHS standards.
