Sales Manager - Data Services and Storage
This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

The HPE Data Services portfolio brings together the best of block, file and object storage solutions along with hyperconverged architectures on a cloud-native Greenlake Cloud Platform. In addition to the infrastructure, the portfolio also contains data services such data protection, disaster recovery, data migration and other AI-driven operation services.
As the leader of sales for all Data Services and Storage across Australia and New Zealand, the Sales Manager will drive the team to capitalise on the market opportunity and the modern HPE Data Service and Storage solutions portfolio.
**Your Key Responsibilities**:
- Coach and manage account team members to optimize performance and orchestrate the resources to maximise the return on investment of the team’s time and energy.
- Proactively establish a strong professional relationship with key IT and business executives in the strategic accounts, focusing on senior business management challenges and strategies ; use these relationships to help coach the team members by demonstrating the desired sales skills and ‘challenger’ sales methodology.
- Motivate the team with energy and enthusiasm to drive an industry-leading level of external customer and partner engagement - high activity and hunger are the essential cultural traits of the team.
- Engage in global deals requiring collaboration across multiple regions and functions and ensure submittal of timely and accurate forecasts
- Strategic Leadership - Leads the sales community to success.
- Customer Intimacy - Orchestrates major account customer engagements for HPE to make sure we deliver results through the best customer experience in the industry.
- Managing the Business - Establishes sales methodology for end-to-end sales process management, with clear roles and responsibilities in each stage of the sales process.
- Responsible for complex multi-BU business deals, taking into account P&L impact.
- Build and maintain executive relationships with peer executives within key technology partner alliances (Veeam, Commvault, Cohesity, Scality and Qumulo).
**About You**:
- 10+ years’ experience in sales, including success in consistently achieving progressively higher quota and other sales goals.
- 5+ years’ experience managing high performing sales teams preferred
- Experience in the storage, data services, cloud and/or SaaS markets is desirable
- Demonstrated excellence in ‘challenger’ sales management, driving a continual development of individual salespeople’s skills
- You will have a partner-centric philosophy and are happiest when innovating and making things happen.
- Holding highly developed negotiation skills and risk management skills
- High level focus and drive to achieve sales targets
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a successful sales team
- It’s desirable that you have lead national or ANZ-wide teams previously and have the skills and experience to manage high-performers in remote locations.
- You will be able to travel across the ANZ region as required (typically 1 week a month) and for international travel as required.
