Accounts Receivable Manager

Position Purpose
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will provide oversight and support to the accounts receivable function with a focus on revenue and forecasting and recognition within a growing scientific contract research organisation. Contributing to process and systems improvements to develop workflows and client services.

Key Responsibility Areas
Accounts Receivable / Credit Control
Management, supervision and conduct of the Accounts Receivable function, which includes:

- Prepare client invoices and statements on a monthly basis;
- Respond to queries from clients with regards to invoicing;
- Resolve customer queries and issues;
- Collaborate with clinical study managers to obtain study forecast data;
- Ensure study revenue forecast data is captured and entered in a timely manner into the accounting system;
- Assist with revenue backlog reporting on a weekly basis;
- Enter actual revenue data into accounting system on a monthly basis;
- Reconcile deferred revenue and invoicing data as part of the month end process.

Process Improvements
- Work closes with the Financial Controller to improve and streamline processes including integration of existing programs;
- Test new processes and improvements to workflows.

Reporting
Assist the Financial Controller with the completion of month end/year end processes in accordance with agreed timelines, including:

- Preparation of various general ledger reconciliations and other Balance Sheet reconciliation as required;
- Preparation of month end reports as required.

General
- Maintain high levels of communication with colleagues and productive relationships with service providers and other partners;
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, Standard and Guidelines for Financial Systems;
- Proactively reviewing procedures and processes and suggest recommendations for improvements;
- Collaborate well in a cross-functional matrix environment;
- Assisting the broader accounts team.

Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance of Accounting plus business experience - Essential
- Supervision of Staff - Desirable
- Experience in Oracle NetSuite - Desirable

Experience / Knowledge / Attributes
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations - Essential
- Customer service approach - Essential
- Experience in NetSuite or similar accounting software - Essential
- Advanced excel skills including the use of advanced formulas, power query, or macros - Essential
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail - Essential
