Seeking an experienced Procurement and Contracts Manager to join a Government department in Perth CBD

**Your new company**

A major Government department in Perth CBD is seeking an experienced Procurement and Contracts Manager to commence ASAP. You will be engaged on an initial temporary basis through Hays for 6-months, with a possibility of extension. You will be required to work full-time hours, with flexibility offered around hours and work from home.

**Your new role**

As the Procurement and Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing end to end procurement processes, as well as oversee major contracts. Your duties will include:

- Provide specialist procurement advice on department wide low to medium value procurement
- Provide specialist advice around contract variations and extensions
- Monitor expiry dates for contracts, ensure extension options are exercised within timeframe
- Responsible for advertising tenders, issuing and publishing contract details on TendersWA
- Ensure that all procurement and contracts documents are aligned with Government policies and procedures
- Actively contribute to a process of continued improvement around procurement and contract management

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to be considered for this role you must display previous experience in a Procurement or Contract Management position. In addition, you will demonstrate:

- Professional communication skills, with confidence in handling negotiations and providing specialist contract and procurement advise to clients
- Excellent organisation skills
- Fantastic attention to detail and a demonstrated understanding on procurement and contract document frameworks
- The ability to work well independently and within a team
