Hancock Energy has a Max term opportunity until the end of 2028 for a Project Contracts and Procurement Manager to join a growing team supporting onshore oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia.
This opportunity is within the Projects team. Responsible for monitoring and coordinating a leading Gas project. Including, Project contracting and procurement strategies and function. Ensuring timely cost effective and compliant procurement of goods and services and works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement and contracting strategies aligned with project and corporate objectives
- Forecast demand, plan budgets and set KPIs for procurement activities
- Identify risks and mitigations measures in supply chain and contracting process
- Manage and support the sourcing of equipment, materials and services
- Lead tendering bid evaluations, negotiations and supplier selection
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, local laws and international standards
- Establish supplier qualification and performance monitoring systems
- Draft, review and negotiate and administer varies types of contracts
- Ensure contracts safeguard company interests and allocated risks appropriately
- Monitor contract execution, variations, claims and dispute resolution.
- Lead contract close out and lessons learnt process
- Work together with the companies Quality Manager to support master and sub project quality verification plans
- Development of project inspection regimes and verification check plans in line with both contractors, procurement and supply chains
- Monitor and report project progress, expenditure, and forecast to complete.
- Variance analysis for cost, and schedule, including identification of exceptions and corrective actions as appropriate.
- Project change management including the compilation of variations against the variations of contracts.
- Support to the project risk and opportunity management including contingency management.
- Engage and coordinate with the project leadership and project team to drive a robust project controls management approach.
- Definition and application of rules and systems to meet project conformance, tracking and reporting
- Manages contracts from strategy through to award, execution, administration and close out.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum of years' management experience, in Oil and Gas procurement and contracting with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Previous experience in fee estimate, tenders, contracts, claims, variations, project planning, schedule integration, schedule analysis, cost analysis and project performance management
- Strong knowledge of international and domestic contracting standards
- Proven track record managing large scale EPC/EPCM and service contracts.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement, as demonstrated within previous work history
- Excellent knowledge of contract law, risk management and compliance
- A strong work ethic, self-starter and ability to relate well to both work colleagues within a team environment and external parties.
