**Position Information**:
Gymea Technology High School (632 students, including 15 Aboriginal students) is a comprehensive coeducational high school situated in the Sutherland Shire in the southern suburbs of Sydney. A supportive parent body and an innovative staff drive school priorities that lead to quality learning outcomes for our current generation of learners. School sport is nurtured at school through a stage based approach bringing together the development of sporting games and fitness for every child.
The school enjoys a holistic approach to student development and citizenship through an embedded positive behaviour for learning program and enhances student engagement through ongoing innovative developments in learning space design and digital learning.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated experience in maximising student engagement through quality teaching in PDHPE courses and whole school student development programs.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead the development and implementation of innovative curriculum change with teaching, learning and assessment programs.
- Experience in the organisation and running of internal school sports programs that engage staff and students in the development of sporting skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of the school leadership team, supporting the implementation of a shared vision
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
