**Position Information**:
Moorebank High School is a dynamic, partially selective and comprehensive high school situated in southwest Sydney. The school has 1046 students with 1.6% of students from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background and 78% of students from a language background other than English. In 2021, Moorebank High School established a Support Unit with three autism support classes. The school is committed to extending it's students through excellence in teaching and learning and collaboration with it's partner primary schools as well as other comprehensive and selective high schools. Moorebank High School offers students and teachers opportunities for leadership and quality learning, and has a proud record of academic, sporting and cultural achievements. The school continues to refine a broad and differentiated curriculum, progressive welfare practices, and quality professional learning to ensure excellence in student learning outcomes. The school's priorities include growth and attainment, effective classroom practice and assessment and feedback. The successful applicant will oversee the combined PDHPE and Languages Faculty and must be willing to undertake training to teaching Sports Coaching.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach PDHPE (7-12) and capacity to lead the implementation of the new HMS and PDHPE curriculum in line with evidence-based teaching strategies that cater for a diverse range of learners.
- Demonstrated capacity for strong faculty leadership with a focus on explicit teaching, high leverage strategies and data driven practices, to inspire and build the capacity of teachers with a range of skills and experiences.
- Demonstrated highly accomplished interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build positive relationships within the faculty, across the school and the wider community.
- Demonstrated ability to be a dynamic member of the executive team to collaboratively drive whole school initiatives that support the effective implementation of the School Excellence Plan.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
