**Job Information**:
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Key Account Manager is responsible for the retention of an existing customer portfolio and developing new business opportunities, ensuring volume, margin and net customer targets are achieved. The position is responsible for the complete sales process from front to back, including increasing customer conversion and market share, as well as following through with account management best practise.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in securing growth opportunities, retention and continuous improvement
- Plan, implement and monitor sales performance against the budget
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, drive a commitment to contractual deliverables and our business requirements
- Engage in early-stage contractual negotiations and discussions with client representatives
- Ensure current fleet capital requirements and assets are in line with current and future demand
- Ensure the branch has sufficient fleet resources to service the customer’s requirements
- Managing fleet quality, demand, utilisation and optimisation
- Proactively provide operational support and customer service to clients
- Assist with key growth and development strategies for the business.
- A ‘hunter’ approach to increasing sales and business development
- 4+ years’ experience in a similar position
- Experience in pursuing and acquiring key new-business opportunities in a highly competitive sector
- Working knowledge of the equipment, fleet, machinery supply or similar industries
- Experienced in establishing, building and maintaining relationships with customers, with a proven record of increasing sales to both existing and new client bases
- Ability to implement business strategies to achieve higher returns and ensure continuing growth
- Self-motivated and resilient mindset, with the ability to be flexible and agile
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Conflict management, de-escalation, and resolution skills
