**About the role**:
The Victoria Police Forensic Services Department is an accredited laboratory that provides a professional forensic service to Victoria Police, persons involved with the administration of justice and the public.
**The function of the Drug Sciences Group is**:
- To provide evidential analysis on exhibits relating to illicit drugs and narcotic plants.
- To attend crime scenes.
- To provide expert evidence in court.
- To provide intelligence information relating to illicit drugs.
- To provide administrative support to the Drug Sciences Group.
**Your duties will include**:
- Filing and archiving tasks including casefile management and preparing file contents lists
- Evaluating and ordering specialist consumables and maintaining supply of laboratory/office stock/supplies
- Management and coordination of training, skills maintenance and medical monitoring
- Personnel related administrative tasks including collation of timesheets, leave requests and personal statistics
- Coordinating and conducting Drug Property Audits to ensure compliance with relevant policies
- Forwarding evidential reports to Police Informants
- Casework notification to Police Informants and other stakeholders
- Updating internal case management dashboards
- Uploading data files to the Drug Sciences Group drug database
- A broad range of miscellaneous administrative tasks such as monitoring vehicle/office equipment servicing and repairs and arranging access requirements for new staff
**As the successful applicant, you will**:
- Provide administrative support for the office including keyboard and office management duties.
- Prepare and distribute reports and correspondence on behalf of the office.
- Develop and maintain computerised records and systems including a correspondence register to record the movement of files within the office.
- Liaise with, and provide information to, members of the Department, Victoria Police and external contacts on behalf of the office.
- Assist with the organisation of meetings, appointments, travel and transport arrangements as required.
- Perform courier duties as required.
**Requirements and relevant information**:
- The position will be located at 31 Forensic Drive Macleod 3085.
