An APS6 Media and Events coordinators are needed for a growing government department.

**Your new company**
The department is responsible for the design and delivery of the Australian Government’s policies and programs. Our work touches every Australian community and underpins our economy and society. Our focus is on connecting Australians, enriching communities, and empowering our regions. We do this by providing policy advice to government, and delivering programs, services, and research for the benefit of all Australians.

The Communication Branch provides high quality advice and support through a range of enabling services, including ministerial announcements, speechwriting services, strategic communication services, media liaison, social media engagement, advertising campaigns and design and video services.

**Your new role**
There are multiple positions on offer within the Media Team at the APS6 level working across the department.

Key duties include:

- Drafting media releases and talking points
- Coordinating media enquiry responses
- Identifying opportunities and developing media engagement strategies
- Producing media analysis reports
- Coordinating fact checking and clearance of communications products
- Developing social media content

**What you'll need to succeed**

You will have a proactive approach in identifying opportunities to promote departmental policies and programs. You will be able to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a high-pressure communication environment due to your effective project and time management skills.

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into easily digestible key messages and digital formats tailored to target audiences.

You will be able to maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders, including client areas and external suppliers, and will help to support and build on the existing strengths within our teams.
