Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) is an internationally recognised think tank that shows how Australia can prosper in a zero-emissions economy through independent research and innovative solutions. BZE works with industry, political decision-makers and regional communities to present optimistic and compelling solutions that accelerate climate action. Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the leadership team and board, the Head of Communications is responsible for leading the Communications and Fundraising team to create high-impact communications strategies and bring them to life so that research insights and engagement activities achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage the communications team of two staff members, plus engaged and skilled volunteers
- Providing strategic advice, communications support, and media coaching to the CEO, Board and Colleagues
- Write and distribute press releases and op-eds, stories, video scripts, digital and social content, speeches and briefing papers, creating slides and contribute to repurposing this content for the website
- Developing and delivering comprehensive media, supporter and donor communications strategies
- Collaborate with the engagement team to ensure published work has the intended impact and reach -Undertake regular analysis, research and reporting of communications activities
- Building relationships with a portfolio of new and existing philanthropic trusts and foundations, major donors and corporate partners to maximise funding opportunities
- Oversee donor database and stewardship activities

About YOU
- Relevant experience with a background in communications, media, journalism, marketing or fundraising
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, plus stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally
- Ability to produce comprehensive and high-quality reports for BZE funding partners and board, as well as publications like BZE Annual Impact Report.
- An outstanding collaborator with excellent teamwork and project management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to climate solutions and alignment to BZE’s values
