**About the role**
The Policy Officer coordinates and undertakes policy and project development, providing analysis, advice and contributing to the development of a range of projects to support the design and development of complex policy initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives and Governments commitments.

**About you**
- You will offer a unique perspective to education and student support and provide cultural knowledge and understanding that is shared with all students and staff.
- Have experience working in Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander communities
- Have strong language and communication skills
- Ability to interpret government policies and be the conduit to community voices and getting their voices represented.
- Strong flexibility and adaptability skills
- Ideally have experience working within the public sector and/or experience collaborating with other government departments
**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
- A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
