**About the role**
The Assistant Programs Officer undertakes a range of research, analysis, projects and administrative activities to support the formulation of policy advice and recommendations and contribute to the development of policies and projects that support agency and/or government commitments.

**About you**
- Research, analyse and review complex policy and service issues, identifying emerging issues, developing evidence
- based options, and recommended solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks
- Ability to manage changing demands
- Strong experience in writing briefs
- Experience in supporting the development and implementation of programs
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
- Strong flexibility and adaptability skills
- Ideally have experience working within the public sector and/or experience collaborating with government
**Essential requirements of the role**
- A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
