We are seeking an experienced marketing and communications officer to join our Cultural Services team
Reporting to the Senior Communications Officer, you will contribute to the development and delivery of marketing activity to support Council’s art galleries, museums, libraries, and public art department’s wide range of events, exhibitions, and programs.
You will share our goal of audience-aligned communications and identify creative ways to grow audiences and visitation to Council’s cultural venues and programs.
As part of the greater Cultural Services team, you will contribute ideas to the upcoming promotions for events, programs, and exhibitions, to help departments achieve strategic outcomes.
You will be an excellent communicator with extensive experience writing for both print collateral and online platforms including social media, websites, and blogs.
In this role, you will use your excellent time management and project coordination skills to manage competing deadlines and demonstrate initiative for new opportunities.
You will also use your knowledge of contemporary design and attention to detail to create quality engaging communications whilst upholding Council’s corporate brand.
**About you**
We are seeking a marketing and communications all-rounder with experience in social media, website, content creation, copywriting, design, and digital marketing. Previous experience in the cultural sector would be highly desirable.
As a natural marketer, you will focus on delivering engaging and quality activities that will increase audience awareness and visitation to Council’s arts and cultural venues and programs.
You will use your positive working partnerships within the Cultural Services team and wider Council departments to coordinate, collaborate and implement multi-channel marketing and communication campaigns.

In addition, you must hold the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Communications or other relevant qualification or relevant experience.
- Current Confirmed Suitability for Child Related Employment from the Queensland Commission of Children and Young People (Working with Children Check) or ability to confirm suitability within two months of engagement.
- Current C class drivers license.
