Service and Projects Coordinator
Big isn't always better. When you're wanting to grow your skills in both Project and Service Management, then being part of a very large organisation isn't always best. You'd be too siloed in one or the other.
Small means you're valued, appreciated, needed. And for this MSP I'm representing, it's a golden opportunity to take control of both the service and project functions and keep everything ticking along smoothly.
It's the first role of it's kind in this company, so you can add your flavour and flare to it. Set up solid procedures, implement best practice standards in both project management and service and support. The environment is small enough so you won't need to rigidly follow enterprise methodologies but big enough to be able to make large gains from well thought out and smoothly implemented procedures across the organisation. There'll never be a dull moment given that the MSP looks after a range of mainly junior mining companies looking after all their technology requirements. Being based in West Perth, it's easy to get to and you won't require a car.
**The day-to-day activities will cover**:
- Plan, facilitate, and coordinate day to day project and service desk activities.
- Lead the delivery of project scoping, planning, and communications activities.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment with the project scope and deliverables.
- Contribute to effective resource allocation, forecasting future resource needs based on project and program plans and/or pipeline and budgets.
- Monitor and report on project progress and identify and escalate risks and issues where required to ensure project transparency
- Communicate with key stakeholders regarding the status of project timelines, tasks, and issues.
**Key Skills**:
- Ability to coordinate a large number of small projects and jobs at the same time
- Understanding of project schedules
- Experience in project coordination
- Carry out tasks autonomously with high attention to detail
- Ability to work across multiple projects at the same time
- Demonstrable ability to operate independently across multiple tasks
- Adept in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A flexible, adaptable, and creative approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong client engagement skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient organisational and time management with an ability to meet and deliver to deadlines
- Problem solving and analytical skills
So to be successful you'll need to be able to prove you can do the above, but you don't necessarily have to have done the same role in the past. You may not have worked at an MSP in the past but perhaps you have had that kind of scheduling and service coordination experience. Maybe you haven't worked in an IT company but you do understand how to coordinate a project or team of people to get a job done. Those are the skills we're looking for, not necessarily the exact experience.
There's no specific over time requirement, they take the welfare of their staff very seriously and paid rest and recuperation leave is available as needed. Working from home is available on a partial roster system or as needed.
