**About the Role**:
Due to the ongoing growth of the JBS Australia business, we have an opportunity for an experienced Workers Compensation Specialist to join the JBS Group Risk team in a newly created permanent full-time capacity.

Based in either Brisbane or Sydney, and reporting to the Group Workers Compensation Manager (based in Brisbane), this role will assist in the transition to Self-Insurance within NSW, whilst supporting and maintaining current insurance arrangements within our NSW portfolio. You will provide advice on a mixed case load of workers compensation claims and provide support with the management of complex workers compensation matters.

Please note: this role will involve regular travel to various sites located across our NSW network.

**Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:

- Overseeing the transition of the NSW workers compensation portfolio into the most appropriate and cost-effective insurance program
- Developing and managing relationships with internal business partners across Risk, Safety, Injury Management, HR and Operational functions on all NSW WC matters
- Developing and managing relationships with external business partners including brokers, insurers, regulators
- Providing reporting on key workers compensation metrics as required
- Providing training, support and development to various injury management coordinators
- Providing advice and training to various stakeholders on key NSW Workers Compensation matters
- Maintaining documentation relating to NSW Workers Compensation requirements

**About You**:

- Previous experience in a similar Workers Compensation position
- Demonstrated experience within the highly specialised area of self-insurance
- Passion for self-insurance and experience in assisting employers’ transition to self-insurance
- Knowledge of NSW workers compensation claims management processes, including knowledge of end-to-end claims management
- Comprehensive understanding of NSW workers compensation legislation and SIRA guidelines
- Strong analytical skills as they relate to self-insurance management
- Natural innovator and a thought leader in workers’ compensation
- Strong ability to work autonomously and in a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced diverse environment
- Excellent networking and relationship management skills allowing you to be a prominent member of the workers’ compensation community
- Ability to collaborate effectively with and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Self-discipline and organisational skills, with a motivation to work to tight deadlines
- Experience managing complex situations and claims
