Standalone HR Leadership role
- Heatherton (SE suburbs) location
- Permanent role - open to 4 or 5 days per week
Now this is a rare and interesting standalone HR Leadership role - working with a market leader in the newborn/children sleepwear category, this homegrown business is looking for an experienced and driven HR professional to establish and lead key people initiatives that will have a direct impact on future growth and ongoing success.
Based in Heatherton (flexible working arrangements available of course) and reporting into the CEO, this newly created role highlights the people focus of the organisation. Still relatively small from a headcount perspective (but punching above their weight commercially), the co-Founders want to be proactive from a people perspective and are keen to get the right person in while the business is still small to be able to ensure that as they scale, their focus on people is not lost or diminished.
The business has a focus on ethical sourcing practices and a strong, well established values base. With a band of loyal customers (small and large retail, e-commerce), great product range (with ongoing product development) and established presence within the ANZ region, growth is naturally on the horizon - this is where you come in..
**About the role**
While this is a newly created role, it is by no means a greenfield site. The leaders have done some great work in the HR space, but appreciate that they require expertise to take it to the next level. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
- Build strong and trusted working relationships across the business
- Strategise, but also operationalise HR initiatives - implement and embed
- Manage organisation design (current and ongoing as the business grows)
- Source and implement fit for purpose HRIS
- Coach and mentor senior stakeholders (CEO, GM, people leaders)
- Act as a key member of the Leadership Team - gain a strong understanding of the commercial operations of the business (what makes it tick) and contribute to these key business decisions (outside of just a HR remit)
- Manage recruitment and onboarding needs - ensure that top talent is coming through the door and when they arrive, they receive a top shelf on-boarding experience
- Establish an L&OD framework to meet individual and business needs
- Manage all end-to-end operational HR matters
- Identify opportunities where people initiatives can add value
**About you**
This standalone role requires someone who can do it all from a HR perspective for this successful up and coming business. We’re hoping that you’ll have some of the following skills and experience:
- Track record of HR leadership within environments where you know what best practice looks like
- Experience working within an SME would be ideal, as this is the environment you would be working in and an understanding of what makes organisations of this size tick
- Great people skills, you are a natural relationship builder
- A true generalist, you can cover all facets of the employee lifecycle
- Important to this role is strong commercial acumen - you need to have an interest in the business and how people/HR initiatives impact this
- You have a knack for solving problems and are a critical thinker to find the best solution
This is an outstanding opportunity to leverage your HR experience within a small environment where the appetite for the value that HR can bring is strong, and you can make a difference to the people and commercial success of the business.
If you would like to learn more, then we would love to hear from you.
