Your new company is positioned within the Local Government sector, based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. We are actively seeking an accomplished Service Desk Officer to join the team and take the next step in your career with an exciting new contracting opportunity.
**Your new role**
- Provide first level support to customers of the IT Service Desk by following and updating documented procedures.
- Recommend changes and improvements to relevant stakeholders to avoid the recurrence of problems.
- Ensure that allocated IT Service Desk tickets are resolved in a timely manner as per the relevant Service Level Agreement.
- Ensure tickets are investigated and updated with sufficient detail if they need to be referred to second level support.
- Provide a responsive on-call support service if rostered after hours.
- Ensure requests from senior management and Councillors are prioritised in consultation with the
- Unit Manager ICT Infrastructure and Services.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Attention to Detail, Oral and written communication skills & Time Management skills
- Knowledge Of Active Directory, Microsoft System Centre or Similar Networking Knowledge
- Microsoft Windows Skills
- Professional Telephone & Customer Service Manner
- Experience in IT support and working in an IT Service Desk environment
- Track record and desire to provide excellent customer service and support to users and management
- Experience teaching staff how to use standard IT hardware and software
- Ability to work in a team and operate unsupervised at times
- Experience configuring and deploying PC hardware and software
