Paralegal (Leasing), Alt Corporate

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leasing paralegal to join the innovative and market-leading Alternative Legal Services (ALT) team at Herbert Smith Freehills on a full time or part time (3 to 4 days per week) basis, working from either our Melbourne or Sydney office and partly from home too
As a leasing paralegal in our ALT Corporate team, you will contribute to the team’s excellent client service delivery, and will play a significant role in the team’s ongoing success and continued growth.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Undertaking ALT’s property legal work, including:

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating leases and related documents, as part of ALT Corporate’s volume leasing mandates (office, industrial and retail), acting for a variety of landlord and tenant clients; and
- Preparing lease reviews and providing other due diligence/transaction support, in connection with property and corporate transactions, working alongside other specialist HSF teams.
- Acting as a key client contact on matters and escalating to the Managers, Legal and Senior Solicitors (as required).
- Supporting the design of processes/workflows for individual matters (which may involve the use of legal technology or innovative legal processes). In doing so, you will be supported to explore/challenge how legal technology (such as artificial intelligence software, contract automation, and collaboration portals) and legal process can drive efficiencies for HSF and our clients.
- Providing any other assistance to the business on client matters and related tasks as required.

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**

**What we are looking for**
- 2+ years of leasing paralegal experience in a high volume leasing practice.
- Leasing experience to include drafting and negotiating lease documents, and a sound understanding of the leasing workflow/process.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills (including an ability to prioritise work and balance competing deadlines).
- Able to build and maintain relationships with external and internal clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to summarise complex issues succinctly (verbally and in writing).
