**Your business**:
Legal and Group Secretariat is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to CBA’s external and internal legal risk management and corporate governance.
**Your team**:
The SpeakUP team works alongside the Accountability Regime Team (ART) to support CBA’s strategy by building customer trust in CBA through promoting accountability and upholding integrity. The SpeakUP team and ART are part of Legal and Group Secretariat. The SpeakUP team ensures there are safe channels and formal processes in place that enable CBA’s people and external partners to speak up about their concerns.
SpeakUP also supports and enables CBA’s compliance with the statutory corporate whistleblower regime and undertakes investigations and cultural reviews into whistleblower concerns. The range of misconduct concerns investigated by SpeakUP is broad and includes fraud, bribery, conflicts of interest, bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination.
**Your impact and contribution**:
Reporting to the General Manager FAR & SpeakUP, you will lead SpeakUP’s investigation team of ~10 employees by:
- Ensuring investigations and culture reviews are conducted fairly, impartially, with sensitivity and in a timely and professional manner;
- Overseeing best practice investigative and review processes;
- Ensuring that the team’s processes include wellbeing support for participants and appropriately promote a learning culture more generally within CBA;
- Contributing to SpeakUP’s management, governance and regulatory reporting; and
**On any given day you will**:
- Lead and develop a professional team of workplace investigators.
- Lead, conduct, oversee or commission from an external provider workplace investigations and culture reviews.
- Ensure that SpeakUP’s investigative and review processes reflect best practice and include wellbeing support for participants.
- Review draft allegations and findings reports for clarity, accuracy and appropriateness.
- Enhance and maintain SpeakUP’s investigation manual and related templates, guidance materials and other resources so that they are clear and current.
- Provide input and insights into SpeakUP’s management and governance reporting.
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders such as colleagues in Group Legal, HR (including Workplace Relations and People Care), Group Investigations and decision makers.
- Work collaboratively with other investigations teams across CBA to ensure alignment of processes and practices, where appropriate, and to share organisational learnings.
- Contribute to SpeakUP’s management of its risks, including its controls and compliance arrangements.
- Help shape and implement the ART and SpeakUP team strategy.
**Your experience looks like**:
- Tertiary qualifications in law or another relevant field.
- 10+ years’ experience in workplace investigations, litigation, cultural reviews, or other investigative or alternative dispute resolution processes. Knowledge of, and practical experience working within, Australia’s corporate statutory whistleblower regime will be highly regarded, as will legal practice experience (although this is not a legal role).
- Advanced level of emotional intelligence and demonstrated superior ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with care and respect.
- Excellent written and verbal skills, including deep experience writing clear allegation letters and findings reports.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse information and make well-informed and considered judgements on complex matters.
- Experienced in resolving issues or complaints concerning team processes and / or findings.
- Resilient and well-developed self-regulation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risks and compliance obligations.
