**Overview of the team and role**

The Risk and Analysis (R&A) team is the first line of Comcare’s management of regulation of Work Health and Safety (WHS) for the jurisdiction and has a nationally integrated notification, helpdesk and intelligence capability designed to support the Regulatory Operations Group in its delivery of targeted, risk-based regulation.

The team is responsible for the management and initial assessment of WHS incident notifications and the operation of the WHS Helpdesk for the jurisdiction. The team also delivers a range of statutory authorisation and licencing services.

The R&A team is also responsible for reporting on and analysing WHS data. The Intelligence and Data unit of the team conducts reporting and analysis of WHS data, responding to internal information requests and providing intelligence to inform regulatory activity. R&A’s Intelligence and Data unit produce intelligence and data analysis for a variety of proactive and reactive purposes ranging from single employer reports to reports on industries involving multiple employers or specific risks and harm in the jurisdiction.

The Intelligence and Data analysts are required to work as part of a regionally dispersed team, to gather and analyse information and provide accurate and timely data and intelligence reports on a variety of WHS topics and issues affecting national, regional and local Comcare resources. This requires the ability to extract and interpret data from multiple sources, review data to ensure accurate reporting, and develop a range of intelligence products to effectively communicate with stakeholders.

**Security Clearance**

Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
