**The Role**
The Fraud Intelligence and Investigations Team has responsibility for the department’s fraud and corruption intelligence, detection and investigations functions. This includes obtaining and maintaining
intelligence and data that supports detection of and investigations into suspected incidents of internal and external fraud and corruption against the department and its programs.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Fraud Data and Intelligence Analyst is responsible for managing and responding to fraud and corruption tip offs; reviewing, collecting, analysing and managing information; drafting reports, administering the team’s investigative and intelligence database in line with the Australian Government Investigations Standards (AGIS), and contributing to the overall prevention, detection and response to suspected fraud and corruption.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS Level 5 may include:

- Manage all aspects of the fraud and corruption tip-off function including mailbox and other administration associated correspondence.
- Collect, collate and analyse data to produce high quality managerial and operational reports.
- Undertake initial case assessments to inform fraud and corruption control and investigations decision-making.
- Support program areas to develop referral material when reporting suspected fraud or corruption to the team.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to improve the department’s ability to collect and utilise key datasets to produce useful data driven intelligence products.
- Utilise departmental data sets to develop executive reports and briefing material detailing the department’s compliance with mandatory fraud and corruption control requirements.
- Maintain awareness of contemporary fraud and corruption environment including current trends.
- Identify, implement and promote improved work practices.
- Manage data entry and quality assurance activities within the team’s investigations and intelligence database.
- Other duties as directed by the Principal Investigator.

**Qualifications and Education**
Diploma of Government - Fraud Control or Investigations, or the ability to obtain the qualification within 12 months of commencement is essential.
