**About the roles**

An anticipated 6 - 12 month contract is on offer.

**_Please note: only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline clearance can be considered for these roles._**

**Duties**
**at the APS5 and APS6 level***:

- Support the development of policy and legislation related to levies legislation
- Support the preparation of drafting instructions for the Office of Parliamentary Counsel
- Review existing legislation and historical levies policies
- Support the legislation exposure and introduction process
- Support the preparation of internal and ministerial briefings

**Duties**
**at the EL1 level***:

- Lead the development of policy and legislation related to the levies legislation
- Review existing legislation and historical levies policies
- Lead research and analysis to inform policy papers
- Assess industry feedback for consideration in the legislative drafting process
- Manage industry consultation processes
- Manage the legislation exposure and introduction processes

**Requisite skills/experience**:

- Demonstrated experience in legal policy and/or legislative development
- Excellent research and analytical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with drafting instructions, policy papers and briefing materials (highly desirable)
- Experience or exposure to large government reforms or policy development (highly desirable)
