**APPLICATIONS CLOSE**:
**Training and Standards Specialist**:
Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. And we’re back (in a big way).
We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. For us, flying is so much more than simply taking off and landing (although we understand that is quite important). It’s about going the extra mile, in the air and on the ground, to create authentic experiences that put our guests firmly at the heart of everything we do.
The Cargo Support department has overview of the division’s operational systems, network coordination, training delivery, operational documentation, and data management.
The **Training & Standards Specialist** is responsible for designing, developing and delivering training material for the cargo division in line with regulatory and company requirements (training packages focus largely on operational processes and digital systems). There will be a strong focus on maintaining operational standards and regulatory compliance across the department’s manual and procedure suite. In this role, you will also be required to collaborate with external vendors to maintain training compliance, as well work closely with internal and external stakeholders on operational initiatives.
**Key Accountabilities**
You will design and deliver essential cargo specific training to outsourced partners and cargo terminal handlers. Key accountabilities include:
- Ensure training material, records and standards in the cargo operation are compliant with the respective regulations and company requirements
- Develop, maintain and deliver training material for internal and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with third-party vendors to maintain compliance and support training delivery
- Attend internal meetings to scope and safely implement new operational initiatives pertaining to cargo operations
- Ensure manuals and procedures comply with VA policy, IATA standards and CASA regulations
- Liaise and engage with operational stakeholders, vendors and Cargo management to identify continuous improvement opportunities related to training, policy and procedural development
- Maintain the learning management system used by Cargo to manage training enrolments and compliance for internal and external stakeholders
We’re a winning team and we attract the best: challengers, innovators, and seriously fun individuals with big hearts. At Virgin Australia Group, we pride ourselves on recruiting the right people to join our team and help us rise to the challenges ahead. No matter our role - we are united by our ambition to be the most loved airline in Australia, and always go one step further for our customers, colleagues and our wider community.
**What you need to be successful**
- Experience in the development and delivery of training and education packages
- Experience with e-learning development, curriculum design, training methodologies and online education
- Substantial experience in the cargo industry is preferrable
- Solid understanding of the airline industry is advantageous
- Understanding of WHS, IATA, CASA and workplace legislations and regulations
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
**What you’ll get from us**
We are committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry - including (but not limited to):
- Hybrid work environment between our Brisbane Airport office and Brisbane HQ locations
- Heavily discounted air travel for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)

- Hospitality, retail, technology, beauty services and wellness discounts
- Wellness support, including the _betterme_ digital wellbeing platform
- A comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, which offers confidential coaching and support from qualified professionals for all aspects of life - physical, mental, social and financial
**COVID-19**
The safety and security of our people, guests and operations come first. Always. That’s why we’ve put together a comprehensive ‘Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy’. In a nutshell, to work with us, you’ll need to comply with our (and the airport’s) rules and regulations. And be fully vaxxed.
