**About your role**

Due to a retirement, we have a rare opportunity to join our industry leading commercial team as a Key Account Manager, responsible for our Energy and Water products that we sell into our Industrial market.

Reporting to our Sales Manager, this high-profile role is responsible for one of IXOM’s largest and most complex customer bases and will allow you to utilise your expertise in nurturing strategic relationships, while hunting new business opportunities to grow your portfolio. You will work within a supportive and collaborative team environment, in a role that will ensure no two days are the same.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Build and own strong customer relationships through effective key account and territory management to deliver annual targets
- Manage key accounts, who may also be direct competitors and/or suppliers - knowledge and understanding of regulatory environment relevant to fair business practice
- Development of multi-level contacts and high engagement levels with senior technical, commercial and procurement executives at key accounts.
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product management, quality, supply chain and customer service to ensure seamless delivery of products, services and exceptional customer experience.
- Stay up to date and informed on industry trends, market conditions and competitor activities to proactively identify potential threats and opportunities.
- Identify and deliver substantial new business growth within your industry segment to improve business profitability.
- Manage key supply contracts and negotiate with customers, suppliers or internal parties to implement commercial proposals, pricing negotiations, tender and RFQ responses.
- Ensure all supplier and product related ESG requirements are met, and actions are closed on time.
- Conduct regular business reviews, prepare reports on account performance and manage and review debtor results to ensure customers comply with agreed terms.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Previous experience (7-10 years) in a B2B senior sales role within the chemical industry.
- Ability to engage collaboratively and manage relationships with all stakeholders and influence key decision makers across the IXOM organisation to achieve required results.
- Commercial acumen to truly understand the business development cycle, challenge current processes and offer insights to the product/technical management group.
- Strong customer focus with an ability to be the ‘voice of the customer’.
- Experience in key market segments including water treatment (strongly preferred), industrial traded chemicals and energy.
- Strong commercial tenure and pedigree with strong negotiation skills, along with a positive can-do attitude.
- Thrive on challenge, love the thrill of the win and driven to achieve the best commercial outcome.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, Commerce or related discipline would be highly regarded**.**
