**About the Branch**:
The Community Grants Hub (Hub) works with government and non-government organisation to further the department’s mission to improve the wellbeing of individuals and families in Australian Communities. Additionally, through shared service arrangements, the Hub provides consistent and assured grants administration to client agencies.
T
he State Network Branch provides effective administration of DSS and Client Agency grants through the Manage phase, through the delivery of payments, policies, programs and services and the gathering and sharing of location based intelligence.
The DSS Delivery Lead section is a team within the State Network Branch which acts as a single point of contact (conduit) between the 12 DSS Policy Branches and the State Network to support the manage phase of the grant lifecycle. DSS Delivery Lead is committed to advocating and sharing business insights on behalf of DSS Policy Branches and the State Network. The team triages its workflow through a central mailbox to deliver dedicated, impartial and professional services combined with procuring information, expertise and communication products.
**Position Description**:
As a Departmental Officer, you will provide a range of duties and support to various stakeholders of the Community Grants Hub within the Department of Social Services.
Key Actions
- work collaboratively across the Branch, the department and with Commonwealth agencies throughout the design, selection, establishment and management phases of the grants lifecycle
- actively listen and engage with team members, stakeholders and clients to build and maintain positive relationships with DSS Policy, State Network Branch, and other enabling areas of the Hub
- effectively lead small teams and make informed decisions based on sound individual and team knowledge
- preparation of a range of correspondence and reports
- identify learning opportunities
- identify opportunities for continuous improvement of information and processes to enable business led, technology supported enhancements
- monitor and action queries within a mailbox against agreed timeframes, ensuring that responses are cleared appropriately before release
- the ability to gather and interpret information sources in GPS, interactions and the data exchange to inform analysis and reporting
- analyse business intelligence and information to identify issues, risks, trends, gaps and business impacts
- coordinate and communicate information from all 12 DSS Policy teams and external client agency and the Hub Delivery Network and provide input for regular communication products
- contribute to the DSS delivery lead business plan and delivery lead work plans skills
- knowledge of, or the ability to acquire an understanding of the grants phased lifecycle and the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines 2017
- ability to lead and manage a team as well as good interpersonal skills
- good analytical and problem-solving skills, including excellent attention to detail
- strong communication skills including the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
- ability to conduct research and present new information in an appropriate format
- well-developed time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- be an effective user of Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint websites and Qlik reporting
- demonstrated data analysis and synthesis skills to contribute to problem solving and development of solutions
- strategic understanding of government and departmental priorities and objectives knowledge
- comprehensive understanding of the department's policies and frameworks that relate to the role, including the guide to ministerial briefs and submissions
- comprehensive understanding of relevant business management processes
- comprehensive understanding of the department, group and branch environment.

**Eligibility / Additional Requirements**:
Employees will return to their previous role at the conclusion of the agreed term of temporary reassignments, or if an earlier cessation occurs.
