**About the Stream, Group or Branch**:
The Community Grants Hub (the Hub) administers community-based grants on behalf of Australian Government departments, agencies and organisations. With over 1,000 staff and contractors across Australia, the Hub plays a critical role in designing, selecting, establishing and managing grants across the Australian Government. The Hub supports over 33,000 community grants worth approximately $9.5 billion in grant recipient payments, and this is only expected to increase as more agencies and grant programs transition into the Hub.

The Health Grants Branch, under a partnership agreement, provides end-to-end grant services for the Department of Health and Aged Care - the largest client of the Community Grants Hub and the largest granting agency in the Commonwealth. Functions include funding arrangement management, establishment, offer and execution of agreements and financial assurance.

The Health Establishment and Assurance Team (HEAT) is an integral part of the Health granting process in the Health Grants Branch. HEAT is responsible for the creation of funding agreements for the Department of Health, acquittals processes across Health and Aged Care programs and business improvement for the Health Grants Branch.

As part of the agreement creation process, HEAT has a role in influencing the Department of Health and Aged Care in grant design and developing and collaborating on business improvement initiatives both within the Hub and with the Department of Health and Aged Care.

The team has a strong culture of inclusion and innovation, which has underpinned the creation of quality and timely grant agreements integral to the continuation of support for people receiving funding under Department of Health and Aged Care programs across Australia. HEAT also has responsibility for managing the relationship with the client agency.

**Position Description**:
As an APS 6 you will lead and manage a team and provide a range of administrative duties and support to various stakeholders of the Health Establishment and Assurance team.

As an Establishment Team Leader, your daily priorities will be to:

- develop, lead and manage a professional team, setting clear performance expectations
- manage the work across our teams, see opportunities for efficiencies and implement changes that make our work more effective
- analysis of grant information and data that will enable the production of a suite of documents (Grant Agreements) to be provided to eligible service providers
- identify, document and escalate issues and risk
- management of a range of assurance functions to support the Health Establishment and Assurance team
- manage and prioritise the workloads of lower level staff
- support on-boarding of new starters and contractors
- contribute to a high-performing team culture that engages effectivity with change
- demonstrate positivity and a solution-focused way of working to achieve results
- provide guidance and instructions to relevant stakeholders on issues with submission of grant information data.
- high performance to confidently guide and coach a team through ambiguity, instilling a sense of collective purpose to drive the delivery of program outcomes to high professional standards
- success in leading operational teams and delivering outcomes, including excellent judgement to escalate incidents, risks or issues and provide robust solutions and resolutions

- experience engaging with both internal and external stakeholders would be highly-valued strong including the ability to adapt communication to the audience
- the ability to manage multiple priorities
- a knowledge of, or the ability to acquire an understanding of the grants phased lifecycle and the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines 2017
- able to identify learning opportunities and harnesses information and opportunities to enable business led enhancements
- relevant skills to be an effective user of Microsoft Office suite products, especially Excel and Word.

Preferred by not essential:

- knowledge of, or the ability to acquire understanding of GovGPS or similar.

**Eligibility / Additional Requirements**:
This recruitment process is being used to fill current and future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies. A merit pool of suitable applicants will be created which may be used to fill future vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.

Non-ongoing vacancies will be offered for a period of up to 18 months with the possibility of extension (up to a total period of 3 years). Some of these non-ongoing vacancies may become ongoing in the next 18 months.
