This is a unique opportunity to step into a central governance role supporting both our Board and wider business operations. As Assistant Company Secretary & Regulatory Affairs Officer, you’ll help ensure EML group stays compliant, informed, and well-organised.

You’ll support board and committee meetings, manage company filings, and keep government agencies up to date, all while helping track and assess regulatory changes that may impact the business.

The role sits within our Company Secretary function and works closely with teams across Legal, Risk, Finance, and more to maintain strong governance and meet our regulatory obligations. This is a great opportunity to work with our Corporate Legal team and gain exposure to this area of the business.

This will be a full time, permanent position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and manage Board and Committee agendas, papers, minutes, and action items.
- Lodge statutory and regulatory filings with ASIC, APRA, and other authorities.
- Track and assess legislative and regulatory changes, advising on business impacts to the relevant stakeholders across the organisation.
- Maintain company registers, records, and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
- Support development of Board packs, AGM documents, and Director disclosure.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement and communicate regulatory changes.

ABOUT YOU
- Currently enrolled in a Law degree or a recent graduate, with a strong interest in corporate and commercial law.
- A keen focus on regulatory changes within the insurance industry, ideally with a background in legal practice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft reports and communicate effectively with Boards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
