**About the opportunity**

Role of the Payroll Manager is to ensure all the end to end payroll processes are completed by set deadlines, to ensure all employees are paid according to their awards within the correct timeframes; and all the accounts payable invoices are processed, approved and paid prior to the due dates.

This position has the senior responsibility for ensuring that all the payroll, accounts payable and month end tasks are completed within the strict deadlines.

The main responsibilities include payroll processing, accounts payable processing, payments, deductions, reporting and reconciliations. This position is also responsible for the banking; set up of credit cards and uploading of payroll and accounts payable related payments.

A day in the life as the Payroll Manager with CareChoice, some of your key tasks include:

- Processing new employee contracts, terminations and variations to employment.
- Validating the payroll files prior to payments; checking correct awards, overtime rules, wage rates, time worked and other checks to ensure an accurate payroll is processed.
- Generating, importing and exporting reports from feeding systems into/out of payroll system.
- Provide award interpretation and payroll reporting (including month-end reporting).
- Answering all queries in a professional manner and supplying information as requested.
- Managing permanent part-time employees to ensure they are rostered to meet contracted hours.
- Assisting with the implementation of new systems and testing as required.
- Entering and checking manual timesheets as required.
- Ensuring correct payments uploaded to the bank.
- Processing offline payments, backpay and overtime calculations.
- Process workers compensation and reimbursements.
- Process superannuation, payroll tax and Portable Long Service Leave.
- Providing ad hoc training to Finance staff as required.
- Maintaining the filing system and archiving payroll information on a regular basis.
- Maintaining all suppliers in the accounting software.
- Ensuring that processes are the most efficient. Process improvement where required.

This role is eligible for an RDO. Additional hours are required to be worked during the payroll processing period and these can be offset by one RDO every 4-weeks.
