**About the role**

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced City Events Manager to join our City Events team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the team, driving the strategic direction and operational excellence of city-wide festivals and events. You will engage the community and corporate stakeholders through these key events establishing Ipswich as a premier event destination in Queensland and delivering a diverse and engaging program of events that generate economic and social benefits for the community.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Lead a team of motivated events professionals to deliver the City Events strategy
- Manage the planning and delivery of civic, corporate and community events
- Ensure that events and projects are delivered at a high quality, on time and within budget
- Manage the attraction and maximisation of medium to major event partnerships to deliver visitation and economic outcomes

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Qualifications in a relevant field and/or substantial equivalent experience at a management level in a medium-sized or large organisation
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills to consult, negotiate and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- An understanding and ability to work with Councillors, service providers, other tiers of government and the community
- Current Queensland C Class Drivers Licence

This is a 12 month fixed term position until November 2025, Level 8 with a salary commencing at $121,294 plus 12.5% superannuation.
