Local Laws and Parking Manager

**About the role**
The Local Laws and Parking Manager will lead the Local Laws and Parking team and be responsible for contributing to the development, enhancement and effective implementation of legislation and local laws to maintain and enhance quality of life outcomes for residents, businesses of, and visitors to, the city. This will be done through developing and implementing compliance strategies and processes which are consistent with council’s objectives.
Your focus and key responsibilities will include:
- Manage the efficient and effective operations of the Local Laws, Compliance Rangers, Parking and Litter and Dumping Teams, including budgeting, work plans, goal setting and performance reviews to achieve objectives
- Formulate, implement, co-ordinate, monitor, evaluate and review of compliance strategies, procedures and programs to achieve a balanced and clean environment, free of serious threats, nuisances and potential hazards, particularly as they relate to compliance activities associated with Local Laws, parking, environmental and waste matters and legislation relevant to council
- Identify emerging community compliance issues likely to have an impact on the local environment and/or community and seek innovative solutions to ensure the compliance branch achieves KPIs, deadlines and commitments through monitoring and managing performance indicators and reporting mechanisms
- Conduct and coordinate complex investigations in relation to Local Laws and legislation

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current Queensland “C” class driver’s licence
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in Business, Public Sector Administration, Law, or similar and/or significant investigative and enforcement experience
