**About us**

Ipswich City Council is the local government authority for the City of Ipswich, Queensland’s oldest provincial city and one of Australia’s fastest growing and most vibrant regions. Council’s strategic leadership is provided by an elected mayor and eight councillors who serve to deliver transparent, accountable, and effective local governance to the city. Ipswich is a dynamic blend of rich heritage, proud communities, diverse landscapes, and a lively energy all contributing to a region full of liveability and opportunity. It is the state's fastest growing city and oldest provincial city.

Ipswich City Council has a workplace culture built on values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership.

**About the Position**

This key senior leadership role reports to the General Manager Assets and Infrastructure and is a critical role within the Asset and Infrastructure Services Department. This position is responsible for leading and managing the branch to deliver key strategic priorities, drive continuous improvement, and foster a safety-first culture.

The role will lead a significant and diverse workforce of circa 400 people that deliver maintenance and related services across Council’s roads and related infrastructure, as well as their parks and other open space/natural assets.

The position will oversee the implementation of critical systems to improve efficiency in planning and will be responsible for the delivery of Council’s Open Space Maintenance Improvement Strategy. Additionally, it will ensure the effective deployment of staff through a centralised scheduling function, enabling the branch to deliver services aligned with Council’s corporate objectives. The role will require a balance of strategic oversight, operational management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure that both financial and non-financial performance targets are met.
