**About the role**

The Principal Officer (Program Management) is responsible for the successful delivery of a defined program of capital works to deliver key infrastructure to cater for Ipswich's current and growing population. You would be managing works such as roads, footpaths, drainage, parks, open space, sporting facilities, community facilities, bridges, buildings, lighting, playgrounds, libraries and swimming pools.

The position will have a holistic view of the program of works under its responsibility and you will professionally manage individual projects within the program with a focus on delivery.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Provide expert advice and recommendations to various sections of council for projects
- Provide financial management and reporting at program and project levels
- Manage the effective coordination, planning and delivery of a Capital Works program, individually and with a team of Project Coordinators
- Manage and mentor Project Managers in the delivery of a defined Capital Works Program
- Seek innovative solutions to ensure the program achieves corporate goals, deadlines, and commitments including navigating project complexity and stakeholders
- Work effectively with key stakeholders and senior management in accomplishing program and project objectives

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in project management and the planning and provision of local government infrastructure
- A proven track record in development, implementation and planning of capital projects and delivery of outcomes in a high tempo environment
- Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
- Current Queensland C class driver’s licence
